WSP SAFE

I was part of a dedicated team tasked with developing a critical firearm background check system for Washington state law enforcement. Through a complex process working directly with WSP staff and FFL holders, we designed a system that significantly improves the efficacy of background checks in the state of Washington. The WSP SAFE platform serves a dual purpose as a vital tool for both WSP staff and firearm sellers. For WSP staff, it's a hub for efficiently reviewing background check requests, ensuring thorough and accurate assessments. Additionally, it plays an important role during firearm point-of-sale transactions, initiating and facilitating the background check process seamlessly.

Throughout the project, I was responsible for creating and presenting regular prototypes of the platform's design. These prototypes were instrumental in ensuring that the user interface and overall user experience met the highest standards. Moreover, I closely collaborated with WSP staff and firearm sellers, actively soliciting and implementing their valuable feedback. This iterative design process allowed us to refine the platform continuously, making it more intuitive and effective.

Working on the WSP SAFE platform was a complex endeavor, marked by stringent requirements and exacting standards. However, I'm proud to say that my team was successful in creating a system that not only meets but exceeds these strict requirements, providing an excellent solution that enhanced firearm safety for Washington state law enforcement.
